THE OWO

For more than a hundred years one of London’s grandest and, until now, most mysterious buildings has stood alongside St James Park, directly facing Horse Guards.
It is the Old War Office.

Here, deep within the airy Edwardian rooms, concealed by a magnificent façade, some of the most significant moments in British history have taken place.

Here;
Winston Churchill directed the country to wartime victory.
Ian Fleming created 007, the quintessentially suave spy loved by millions.
John Profumo worked as Secretary of State for War before his affair with Christine Keeler was exposed.
And now, The OWO has been created here; giving new life and purpose to an architectural gem that is just footsteps away from Whitehall.

A new concept in luxury

The OWO is the Old War Office reimagined as a 5-star Raffles experience, with a hotel, spa and 85 exclusive, private residences. Expanded by almost half with new subterranean and rooftop floors, the Grade II* listed building is now over 750,000 square feet of meticulous design and attention to detail.

Beauty hidden for over 100 years

Inside the doors, beautiful features have been retained and enhanced in a symbiosis of old and new that is a triumph of aesthetics and ergonomics. The soaring ceilings and grand staircases are more breath-taking than ever. The intricately detailed plasterwork, oak panelling and mosaic floors demand your attention. Whole height windows speak of a past, more elegant age.

An exponential merger of two iconic entities

Raffles Hotel, synonymous with wealth and glamour, is among the world’s most famous. Established in Singapore in 1887 it is of an age with the Old War Office and enjoys an equally evocative history. It is the natural choice to bring a new area of fine living to Westminster. The OWO is the apex of Raffles luxury. The five star hotel and spa, with it is ballroom and eleven restaurants, led by international and Michelin star chefs, are an exquisite expression of Raffles hospitality, unsurpassed anywhere.
The 85 private residences, serviced by Raffles, are an innovation in central London living, offering all the benefits of a 5-star hotel with the utmost privacy and security. Refashioned from existing spaces, they retain the elegant splendour of the Edwardian era translated to modern demands with added amenities of rooftop terraces, a cinema, a swimming pool, spa, landscaped gardens and private parking.
